Dr. Seloamoney Palaniandy or Dr. Selva as he is best known among friends and colleagues is a highly respected educationist in Malaysia and the region. Over the years he had worked in many culturally diversified academic settings in different countries under different capacities.   He is currently a Professor at the School of Education, University of Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea. Working closely with public and private academic organizations and agencies, he is aspiring to bring about educational improvement in PNG, and in the South Pacific (Teacher Training). He held senior academic positions in several universities in Malaysia specializing in the areas of Education (Pedagogy), Management Sciences, Business and Entrepreneurial studies teaching PhD, Masters as well as undergraduate students.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teachers, United Kingdom, a veteran of the International Society of Teacher Education and an active member of several international teacher organizations and academic associations as well as Government and Non-Governmental agencies.

He has published many research articles, authored books and written book chapters. He sits on the review committees of several reputable international academic journals. He is a thesis reviewer, examiner and program developer for PhD programs in Social Sciences; an invited/guest speaker on issues with PhD thesis supervision, thesis review, Research Methods, Issues in Higher Education, Educational Leadership and Management, Business Studies, Educational Evaluation and Measurement, Critical Thinking and Life-Long-Learning.

Dr. Selva enjoys a wide network of friends from all over the world in the field of Education. He is a visiting professor to universities in Thailand, Indonesia, China, India, Japan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Cambodia, South Africa, Mauritius and Fiji. He has strong affiliations with some of the universities in UK, Ireland, US, Canada, and Denmark (development of academic programs and evaluation).

While acting as a consultant for some educational institutions and agencies, Dr. Selva is also noted for his voluntary (free-of charge) coaching for thesis/dissertation writing skills in Social Sciences for interested students on a global scale.

He has traveled to many countries (not less than hundred) for official reasons: academic visits, conference attendance,  invited/guest speaker; cultural visits, motivational talks, school visits, and for independent research. He promotes/facilitates/arranges sponsorships for international student mobility programs for (student) exposure and self-enrichment. He conducts free motivation programs for innovation and entrepreneurship for youth development; free training for staff development programs on pedagogy and other related matters in higher education.
